I agree completely that this year's carnival events were very badly organised.
I have been e-mailing since before Christmas requesting information & details with regard to programme of events for the entire carnival period & even up to the day I arrived no information was available. Each year it becomes harder for me to organise my time in Venice (as I am there to work as a photographer) & I am amazed that no official program is in effect prior to Christmas so I can recommend clients & friends to attend in advance.
It is very poor & even when the website was on line a few days prior to this year's festivities it was hard to navigate with small scroll bar & miniscule type face that it was impossible to use easily.
Are they deliberately trying to make it difficult to gain information ?
I know the Venice carnival is a very little known about here in UK & the official body that is there to promote & publicise the carnival has done a lousy job this year.
It would be good to have the events lined up well in advance with a clear, informative website that many people can refer to .
Very many events are repeated each year so to fine tune program would not be so difficult.
Please note these comments.
