Happy New Year from our Mayor….

Massimo Cacciari, the mayor of Venice, addressed a Happy New Year message to the Venetian residents through YouTube.     Dear Venice Lovers,

    Yes, the mayor has once again shown his lack of appreciation and desire to preserve the city he pretends to represent. If we were to follow his lead, Venice should be abandonned, and all should seek the new life in Mestre. Then the deserted Venice could be sold to Disneyland, and be made into a ludicrous amusement park, for profit, with no real life as a city or a treasure of history. Why can Venice never get the representation she deserves, or effectively use both human and financial resources to remain healthy, vital, and viable as a city, and the jewel in the crown of the social and art history of the world?
