    Aloha from the island of Maui in Hawaii!

    We LOVE Venice and are hoping that in 2008 we can return to your beautiful city! We were visitors every year for 6 years to Venice (mostly for Carnivale) but had to stop our trips because of the exchange rate of the Euro with the American dollar.
    We always appreciate your newsletter (and even sent you a commentary a few years ago because of negative statements made by a New York food critic about the Venetian cuisine!!) and look forward to your news of Venice.
    Living here in Maui—which is very similar to Venice in the sense that our economy is based on tourism and as locals we have to adjust our lives to the endless influx of tourists—and because, like Venice, we have limited space and everyone has to travel across the water to get here——we are always interested in how your city deals with the challenges of the world today.
