candid
no mystery, i’m among those venetians (50 percent) who disapprove the fourth bridge on the grand canal (calatrava’s bridge), mainly because it will prove terribly expensive for the city and it was not among its priorities. that, and the mose system, are good candidates to become the most useless enterprises of the 21st century.

I’ve just returned from Venice and Calatrava’s bridge is in place. For all those who enter the city via the bus station I feel this will prove a valuable short cut. I hope it will also ease the pressure of people with luggage trying to use vaporetta to get from the bus station to the railway or vice versa.
It will ease the congestion along Fondam. Croce and Fondam. S. Simeòn Piccolo greatly.
